Kylee grew up in Visalia, California and attended Cuesta College before transferring to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. While at Cal Poly, she worked as an undergraduate researcher under Dr. Eric Kantorowski synthesizing arylcyclopropane derivatives and optimizing ring-opening conditions in order to understand the mechanisms behind electrophilic-promoted fragmentations.
