Bio

I grew up in Santa Cruz, CA, where I attended Cabrillo College before transferring to UC San Diego, where I received my B.S. in Chemistry. In the Siegel group UCSD, I was involved in developing the synthesis of the macrocycle, micrococcin P1. The synthetic route focused on a sequence of scalable reactions of cysteines and nitriles to form thiazoles. Additionally, I worked on developing a method for the synthesis of aryl-substituted 2-pyrazolines. The efficacy of these compounds were tested against liver larval stage malaria.

Fun facts
I enjoy cooking, making jewelry, attempting DIY projects, and tending to my excessive amount of house plants. Seriously my house is a jungle.
